Done well

Hey, this post is vintage content. It dates back more than 19 years ago: it may contain outdated and inaccurate information.

That's what I thought when I discovered - by accident, I admit - that Firefox opens a bookmark in a new tab by Ctrl+click on the relevant menu item or on a button in the bookmark bar, exactly as it happens with links in pages. On Mac OS X, the corresponding shortcut ? Cmd+click.

Uniform behaviour in applications (or websites) is often a sign of well-made software - or at least that is the feeling they give - and makes work easier. For counter-evidence, try working on Photoshop and Illustrator at the same time and you will be convinced that two groups of people at Adobe who probably haven't spoken to each other in years are developing them.
