Japan, but not Gigaro
A few years ago, fourteen, although it doesn't seem like it, I published a photo, taken from a French beach near Gigaro: I titled it "Gigaro, Japan."
The aesthetics referred back to Japan, probably to certain prints, certain Japanese art that had come my way. Who knows, then, by what chain of suggestions.
Two nights ago, this time with my feet for real on a beach in Japan, I collected this photo. There is a very rugged stretch of coastline near here, with bays that run into the land for several kilometers. They almost look like tropical fjords. Not far from here, even, there is a campground called Ise-Shima Everglades, as if we were in Florida.
From the beach, the outlines of the opposite mountains to the west could be seen in the distance.
