Now and then

It is something I have sometimes tried to do, visiting cities affected by any war: I have tried to imagine what they might have been like during the conflict. Who walked on the pavements? What did the houses look like? Did some of them collapse? Which parts of the street furniture are still there and which are no longer?
Just now, thanks to Paolo, I discovered this page: Leningrad Siege: Now and Then. And if imagining was difficult, seeing makes your head spin.
