Accessibility and search engines

That the use of standards and attention to accessibility facilitate the indexing of pages by search engines is well known and also easily understood.
But today I found this concept expressed in an unexceptionable manner:
Search engines are blind, deaf, mobility impaired users with scripting and plugins turned off.
To stick on your monitor so you never forget it.
