Ise-jingū
Near Ise is this pond in a forest of ancient trees.
The forest surrounds several Shinto shrines: every 20 years they are dismantled, all of them, their wood used to build other shrines, elsewhere, and here, in Ise, new ones are built.
The next reconstruction will be in 2033.
While everything is moving, while everything is flowing, I walked through this forest of trees while it was dark-it left me with a sense of serenity to return to.
