This was New York
It's the end of the second year of high school: Gabrio sits in the empty desk next to me and, out of the blue, throws in a "today I'm going with my parents to get tickets to America...". "Uh, America! I would come too..." I reply.
The rest is a moment: Gabrio's parents hearing my parents, my parents making me wait a few days for the decision. In my heart, I knew it would be a yes: parents, when it comes to travelling, have always been ready to go.
This is a slide photo taken during that trip: it's the summer of '93 and New York was already New York. I had Dad's Olympus IS-1000 on loan, a pure concentrate of technology at the time.
